Daydreamer

They say he’s a daydreamer
The kind that walks with melodrama in his eyes
And the stars to him, like faded street signs
Pointing the way to his destination

They say he’s a daydreamer
A wanderer of the skies
For what he sees is what he knows
And he knows no other limitations

They say he’s a daydreamer
One who can’t help but smile
At things you cannot see
He walks along, unknowing he’s happy

They say he’s a daydreamer
His heart filled with eccentricity
He never gets lost, wandering alone
But his motives are a mystery

They say he’s a daydreamer
Who dances when it rains
He gazes into puddles like pools of oblivion
And envies the children but never plays their games

They say he’s a daydreamer
Who’s always lost in dreams
But the truth about him, so they say
Is he’s not much more than he seems
