Cold And Jaded

Walking through the pouring summer rain
Skipping down this endless road today
‘Cause I can dance all night to hide the pain,
And you can’t find me to take my mask away.

You tempted me until I fell for you,
And I never guessed what you had in mind
That you didn’t want me but someone new
And you would move on and leave me behind.

I thought that if I hid for a while
I could cover my scars with a broken smile
But the old mask you gave me to wear is faded,
And the world can see me, cold and jaded.

I can no longer dance to forget the ache,
This is what you’ve done to me
Selfish and senseless, you let my heart break
And I don’t know when I’ll be free.
