Whisper soft surrounding
Trickles of airy crystals
Tiny millions, unique formations
Glacial beauty in time and space
Fragile individually
Deadly strong as many
Flawless fairy prisms
Sparkles and shimmers
My eyes entranced
Unmarked, untouched
Luring me into bottomless
God-like sensation
I drop downward
Indescribable floating turns
Behind me hearing
Slithering, sibilant shifts
A hoar-frosted wave
Eagerly outrunning
My serpentine path
Breath stills, heart speeds
I listen for an awakening
Of a larger creature
Beneath my dancing feet
Changing course to tease
Through unforgiving evergreens
Listening for that whoomph
Of settling snow
Or a crack of sound
A warning perhaps
Too late
