Sometimes I wonder why
You treat me as you do
I just want to live my life
and experience it through and through

I want to make my own choices
I don't want to just do what you say
I want to learn things for myself
which may mean making mistakes day by day

I feel pressured to do the things
That you want me to do and the things that you say
even though in my heart
I know i need to do it my own way

I need to experience the world
And see what it has to offer
You can't protect me forever and ever
I have to face my own monsters

I can think on my own
By now you should see
That weather or not you want me to
I am going to be the real me.
