Friends That Care

A silent rain falls over the gathered assembly,
As a coffin is lowered into the ground very gently.
Her brother, her father, her mother, and sister
The ones she had expected to miss her.
But standing amongst them she never would have guessed
Fifty or so more people with their hearts heaving in their chests
People standing in this crowd she may have never talked to
When they looked at her, she thought they were looking through.
Her sister starts sobbing showing how all are feeling
She was the one who found her hanging from the ceiling
Only seventeen years old with so much ahead
She didn't see it that way, she'd rather be dead.
And all we have to do is give
A friendly gesture or talk or even listening
Even that could make a difference, just that one little thing.
Save a life be a friend
It can make a difference in the end.
