Faces I did search for smiles,
Only finding frowns
Hearts I did search for true love,
Thinking it was just a myth
Mothers I did search for affection,
Mostly seeing imperfection
Fathers I did search for true care,
But what I found was pain
Teachers I did search for knowledge,
But realized they didn’t have a clue
Friends I did search for comfort,
But no one really understood.
Well-wishers I did search for guidance
To help me to understand
Rocks were they, lacking kindness
Without love and affection
All the sufferings I did pay
Now I know-not of these pains
For I see all I needed was you
Your smile is like the sunshine
Your heart is like a warm fire
Everything about you is good
You are a wonderful person
I think to myself wonder
How someone so perfect
Could love such an
Imperfect person like me.
