Tears roll down my cheeks as I sit here and think of you
It’s that special time of year you see where I am just blue
I remember our first valentine’s where true love was sworn
And I wish you were still here and I didn’t have to morn
All I have are these treasured memories
They are worn and old you see all filled with love’s glories.
I’ve gone though them times after time
Holding on to each precious line
I remember how much you wanted to be with me, conquering every mile
But I took our future for granted and made you wait with a sad smile
Please don’t be sad as you see me crying this valentine
All I ever wanted was for you to stay and be forever mine
So close the gates heaven darling and wait for me
For that special day when I’m running to you with glee
And please understand why I’m crying on valentines
It’s simply because you aren’t here to be my valentine.
