What do you want from me?
You say that you always understand
You don’t know what goes on in my life
So stop shrinking me whenever I take a stand.

I’m tired of you wanting everything your way
If you like it that way live your life like that
I have different feelings, a different personality
It’s just as simple as that.

Stop treating me like I’m a baby
Don’t feed me from a bottle or teach me my ABC’s
I need to learn things on my own now
Get out of my face, get off my back and just leave.

There’s a difference between teaching and forcing
Showing and pushing, comforting and looking down on
I think you’re the one that needs the help
You’re the one that needs the lesson.

You only make things worse
Make my stress level raise
Making me get more and more ideas
And get me cussing in every phrase.

Throwing things at the wall
Running away without a sound
Tears streaming down my face
Wearing nothing but a frown.

If only you would learn
That you don’t know everything
And you haven’t experienced all
So get ready,
Because you’re about to fall.
