That's Just Life

Today somebody laughed at me,
They hurt me deep, internally.
They pointed fingers, blew their nose,
Knocked off my ego as they chose.
Threw my things across the room,
Told me I'd be crying soon,
I'll be screaming all the night,
Until I see the morning light.

Today somebody said they liked my hair,
And also all the clothes that I would wear.
I won the spelling bee withought a doubt,
And when I did my idols they did shout.
On the test I mustered every point,
Even the ones on ancient, old Detroit,
During lunch I got seconds on dessert,
And all the guys seemed to always flirt.

Today everyone idolized me,
And no one dared to criticize me.
I could strut all down the halls,
My friends came bouncing off the walls.
A guy gave me a lolli pop,
And said that I made his heart stop.
And everybody seemed to forget,
About two days before and my regret.

Today the laughing started up again,
I lost every single lovely friend.
The guys put rat guts down my shirt,
And the girls put glue on my new skirt.
It seemed the day before was just a dream,
For today the whole world was so mean,
Everyone was trying to start up strife,
Well, I guess that's just life.
