They assume it's a bad place because of what they hear on the news.
Assumptions of which all the people residing here have no clothes, and no
shoes.
Look beyond the television screen
To see what this city really means.
People joined together on street corners not to do what you think they do,
But to spit a few rhymes,
Hoping a music producer will coincidently walk by.
Block parties every weekend to holla at some friends.
Dancing at the rec center 'til the day ends.
People riding their bikes to the party store,
Cause they ate all their candy and they want some more.
On the way to the store they wave to everyone,
Cause everyone knows everyone that everyone knows everyone.
Music is the basics,
Then the friendships and relationships.
One city united isn't that what we want to see?
Then why does everyone criticize the D?
The people here love where they live.
Love the music, the people, what side of town their in.
Love to hear their favorite song blasting down the block.
Doin hair on the front porch or dancin at River Rock.
The 313rd is the place to be.
Whether you're black, white, chinese, and all that's in between.
