The girl who’s pessimistic so she’s not disappointed
I’m the girl you see sitting on tops of buildings
The girl you see underneath a carwash
I’m the girl who asks the stupid questions
The girl who acts proper to get a shock out of people
I’m the girl you see unattached
The girl you see try to talk her way out of trouble
I’m the girl you see with friends in every clique
The girl you laugh at because you think she’s joking
I’m the girl that goes out of her way to meet new people
The girl you don’t date because she’s your best friend
I’m the girl you see studying the sky
The girl you see sleeping whenever a moment presents itself

The girl you see surpass misery to out eat anyone
I’m the girl that wouldn’t change a single flaw
The girl who listens to everything but pop and techno
I’m the girl who is fascinated by society
The girl who would rather cry from truth than smile from lies
I’m the girl that looks for confusion
The girl you see lying in the rain
I’m the girl that pushes people away because she cares to much
The girl who blocks out emotions she doesn’t like

I’m the girl that hides behind herself
The girl that stands over her hypocritical controversy
I’m the girl that is rough around the edges
The girl that writes this mess without rhyme because she is
I’m the girl that looks through rock to find you
The girl who’s mind you play survivor in

The girl you think you really know now
I’m the girl you keep looking at to see if you’re right
The girl you wave to from across the room
I’m the girl you recognize after you leave
The girl that sings out of tune in the shower
I’m the girl writing what she can’t seem to say
The girl that hates to think because it never stops
