The Deadly Secret

Day after day,
She sits in her room,
Wishing she hadn't heard those words.
Afraid of telling.
The fear of violence.
Death is promised,
If she opens her mouth.
Rocking back and forth,
she remembers the promise.
Fear encumbers her body,
And her mouth freezes.
She's afraid to tell,
Afraid to tell what she has heard.
Don't wanna let it get out of control,
Don't wanna die for a no-good reason.
Day after day,
She lies in a grave,
Her soul wishing she hadn't told those words.
