Walking down these tiled halls
My heavy load to bear
Speaking only silenced words
Hiding my despair

I used to be a social one
But that was long ago
Darkness now my only light
Oh how I miss me so

I feel so outside myself
I’m outside looking in
Who is this girl that I’ve become
Why can’t I see within?

I see the others with my friends
And yet I sit alone
Watching what I used to be
A flower turned to stone

So here I am …
A life less gray
Just walk and pass me by
And although I may look alive
My soul has all but died.
