A voice from the past
Seeps into her thoughts
Full of regret
That she wish she'd forgot
She stops to see
What her future holds
Memories slip by
As her eyes turn cold
Reminiscing of things
She once had, but lost
She didn't know then
How much that would cost
Tears run silently down her cheeks
As she looks at her life...
So harsh and bleak
The love she once knew
Now, has turned grey
She looks straight in his eyes
With nothing to say
Her stomach feels tight,
The heartache still shows
The pain that she felt
Starts to rise from below
He walks up to kiss
Her tear-stained face
But she turns away, angry
In painful disgrace
Her heart can't bear
Anymore wicked lies
She brings her hands up
To cover her eyes
She sobs into a pool
Of hurt and mourn
Her love for him is there
But her heart is still torn
Caught up in shame
And the feeling of neglect
He turns away hopeless...
With nothing left
His footsteps echo
Through her crowded mind
She wants to watch him
But the pain unwinds
She looks up to the sky
With unanswered thoughts
Going over all the things
That she had been taught
Never will she trust
So deeply in her heart
Because somebody else
Would just tear it apart
Never will she cut her life
So quickly to the bone
When she knows in the end
She'll just wind up alone...
