The nighttime seems to change us
A little more happy
A little more dazed
A little more uncontrolled

There something about the dark that calls to us
Something inside us
Something daytime can’t satisfy
Some little aspect of being human that needs the dark

The night feeds upon us
Giving us a wonderful nirvana
Then slashing our dreams with the light

But once again
As every night
It draws us back
Without a fight

we secretly love it
