Alone warrior
You stand lonesome on your field of battle
Your war is over
Your battle won
What do you say now
O' brave man of the day
What do you say
When all of your enemies lay waste to decay
Your purpose fulfilled
Your usefulness spent
What will you do
Now that you have nothing left
No blood to spill
No target for your bow
No mark for your sword
Not a menacing foe to block with your handsome shield
All become useless
A wall ornament
Over time
Covered with dust
Laying idle in rust
Much like their owner
A once proud warrior
Now an old man
Wondering why victory
Tastes so bittter.

Note From the Author:Okay so people are completely unintelligent. Sandra and
crissie0516 have no clue about what I was trying to say so let me dumb it
down for them "I have no problem with AMERICA I have a PROBLEM with
WAR. Where does it indicate AMERICA up there you self-righteous morons. Get
off your soap box and go picket the latest south park episode. Honestly. I
encourage thinking as much as I can so here's a message for you two:

THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE!

Second Note from the Author:Since this poem has been so difficult to
interpret, I will take care of it. This poem is about my grandfather who
served in WWII. He came back and felt different. He sat me down at his house
and told me how many lives he ended at the muscle of his gun and how he said
that the day the war was over, victory had just the littlest bit of a bitter
taste. He said for all of the lives lost, both for liberty and a new world
order, none of it was justified. Thanks to all for hearing me out.
