Everyone encounters it it’s such a hard hit
Nobody asks for it, but it’s something we all get
Why is it then that we all must experience such a grief, such a sorrow
That it feels as if we might never reach tomorrow
It comes for many reasons
Often stays for many seasons
And even though it comes in so many forms
It all rips through our hearts like the fiercest of storms
No matter if it is your fault or theirs
It seems that no one you know cares
Whether it be by death or separation
For the grief there is no preparation
I’ve been through so much grief
Most of which have not been terribly brief
For that is decided by God
You have to accept it, smile, and nod
Knowing that you are in his care
Unto him your sorrows and grief you can bear
And though I believe no sorrow can be prevented
Unto Him shall your sorrows be relented
Do not be afraid to follow in His ways
For God will lead you all of your days
And when your days are over and through
To His great kingdom He shall lead you
