The Meaningful Storm

Peering through this transparent glass
I watch the creation of a storm begin
The fat drops of the cloud’s tears hitting the grass
As I listen to that voice within

The wind howled a faint name
That nobody but me could hear
It appeared as an animal, not quiet or tame
That would just howl and leer

I gazed steadily at the heavy rain
Watching the sky enshroud in darkness
Fighting with that voice, trying to keep sane
Ignoring the oncoming blackness

I hear the sudden scratches outside the door
The hungry and angry monster was near
I quivered in terror as I heard its roar
Covering my ears and closing my eyes, wishing it would disappear

Gradually opening my eyes, I looked out of the window
The creature was gone and the dark clouds had departed
Everything was a wreck and time seemed to be slow
But a colorful light shined bright, showing that nothing was coldhearted
