Tears roll silently down her face
Her footsteps quicken
At a faster pace
The blood from her nose
Drips down to her lips
She wipes it on her sleeve
With a slight, nervous wince
She can't see out of her left eye
So blue
It's all too blurry and black
To see through
Swollen up, azure with a purple tint
The scar, busted open
Gives away a good hint
As she pauses to rest her tired legs
She remembers all the fights
With the pleads and the begs
She remembers saying "no"
But the punches still came
But now, she won't come
When he calls her name
The bottle of beer
That drove him to the edge
At the bottom of fear
She stands to take pledge
She won't take this
Any longer than now
She'll get her revenge
Someway, somehow
She won't take anymore
Of this abuse
She sits on the ground
Still rubbing her bruise
She looks to the sky
With accusing thoughts
He once said he loved her
But since when, she forgot
All she had left was a pistol in hand
She makes her mind up
With one final stand
She pulls the safety back
And turns to run
She breaks through the door
Holding her gun
She catches him drunk
In the living room chair
He looks at her blankly...
And still doesn't care
She pulls the trigger
He's gone with one click
The shot rings out...so loudly
So quick
She turns away, sobbing
With tearstained eyes
As she walks out the door
"Goodbye, Dad..." she cries...
