A Dollar In A Bet

I’m tired
Of just being friends
In this chain of confusion
That never ends
I’m attracted to you
And don’t you know it
But I’m scared to say anything
Or even show it
They think I’m crazy,
They think I’m blind
But if they look in my heart
They don’t know what they’d find
You know that I love you,
I’ve fallen so fast
But you say, “If we dated,
Our relationship wouldn’t last.”
But I don’t want to be like this,
I want to be free
I want to be able to love you,
And for you to love me
But nobody’ll listen,
And they don’t know what I show
Cus I’m waiting for you to say it,
Say something just to let me know
I used to beat you up in the past,
I used to call you names
But now I’m more interested in Truth or Dare
And Spin the Bottle games
I’m crazy with my crush on you
I sometimes wish I could show
But I can’t seem to get over it
I don’t want to let it go
You see, I feel like we have something here
Something that’s unseen
Something that nobody can feel
Something that’s only in between
The two of us have something real
Something that’s worth keeping
Something that just can’t get out
I can't afford the leaking
But consider this truthful tale
Please, just don’t forget,
I love you secretly with all my heart
Because I don’t want to place our friendship
Like a dollar in a bet.
