Unhappy No More

She's perfect and popular
Gets straight A's
Everyone wants to be her
She's beautiful in so many ways.

Her father was a beater
Though no one knew it was true
Her mother was an alcoholic
And drinking was all she knew.

Everyone thought she was happy
Everyone thought she was proud
This plus the problems of her parents
Drove her to scream out loud.

One day she could just take it no more
She burst into tears
Everything that was happening
Was becoming her worst fears

She ran into her bedroom
She wanted to be in a new place
She quickly slit her wrists
With tears rolling down her pretty face

Drifting away
It was the start of night
Drifting further
She dreamt a bright light

Early the next morning
Her father found her dead
First he called the ambulance
And then saw how much she bled

Now this girl was not happy
She decided to take her life
She ended all her miseries
And left a bloody knife

Though we mourn her passing
A great lesson is in review
Just because someone looks happy
Doesn't mean it's true.
