A Block In The Road

I think we have all met with it
We who tend to use our pens
Rather than our speech
And actions
In the road to what promises to be our greatest piece
The one that will deliver us fame
Fortune
And a life of nothing but glory
There is the block
The impassible impossible monolith
More obstructing than anything ever encountered before
Try as we might
Our struggle continues in vain
We use our mental strengths against it
All resources
Past works written
Serve as nothing more than a distraction
From the task at hand
It is only when you think all hope in this piece is lost
When you begin to think about what lay beyond the block
Where it came from
What might its purpose be?
Another track is created
A way around the block
To reach your goal
Of another beautiful poem.
