I saw you across the hall, you never looked my way
Hanging with your friends, I watched you every day
I should have talked to you, I should have said hello
But now we're gone and school is over, guess I'll never know

I saw you across the street, working at the bar
you where right there, sitting inside, but yet it seemed so far.
I should have talked to you, I should have said hello
But I walked away, said not today, Guess I'll never know

I saw you at your house, saw a girl and a small kid
I wanted to walk over but instead I just hid
I should have talked to you, I should have said hello
Was that kid yours, did you love that girl , Guess I'll never know

I saw you at the funeral, as you lay there dead
You'll never know the love I feel, I should have thought ahead
I should have talked to you, I should have said hello
But could I have been the one for you, Guess I'll never know
