MY Fate; MY Choice

I see dark shadows as I go through life day to day.
I hear all those voices floating;
still clinging in my mind.

You call to me wanting;
Wanting to lift the darkness from me
I sealed the passageway to my heart, mine, and body; you can't get
through.
I block you out from my life lived, this moment, and my life yet unlived;
my fate.
You call again trying to save me from under the sheets of frozen ice
under the cold surface of the water.
You reach out wanting to save me from all harm; my fate.
I can almost see your face, almost reach the surface;
and almost get a breath of air.
There’s something there, pulling my ankles and leading me into the deep
depths of the water.
I left you that day, with nothing but memories of stolen laughs, and
stolen tears.
It was this I chose; my fate.
A scarred and tortured life;
My fate.
A realm of blank thoughts with no meaning; my fate.
MY fate; my choice.
