Have You Ever?

Have you ever wondered if it was
worse to die without living
or live without dying?
Have you ever stood in the mirror
for so long without once recognizing
the face staring back at you?
Have you ever stood in the freezing rain,
motionless and numb just looking up
at the gray mass of clouds?
Have you ever played tic-tac-toe
on your arms, with glass,
just because you were bored?
Have you ever filled your mouth
with the bitter taste of iron
just to see if the blood was real?
Have you ever sliced through
your thickest vain just to watch
the blood flow down your wrist?
Have you ever laid motionless
in the rain with a crimson puddle
surrounding your body?
Have you ever wanted to die
just because
you were bored of living?
