Blindsided

You possess two faces
One horrid and one to show
I’ve only seen the beautiful one
For the other’s kept hidden and low

However, it does and will come out
From where it’s nestled within
Never for me, just to her
Seems you have a heart of tin

She’s cursed with your wretches
And left in pain all alone
Listening to your rants and raves
Not knowing to find her way home

Of course I’ll never see it
You care of my opinion so
Can you not understand
Compassion is not to throw?

It’s not a thing you can deviate
Give different amounts to those
Who you believe shan’t have it
And only to the ones you’ve chose

What a cowardly person you are
Hiding your ugliness behind pride
As well as a fearful will to please
No, your monster is not mine to find

I wish I would see all of you
And know just what to trust
Instead blinded by dependency
And irrevocable lust
