Saying Good Bye

you were a perfect dad to them
a perfect stepdad to us
but now that you are gone
our hearts are starting to rust

you hated the word ok
you hated the word all right
but now htat you are gone
i think i'm gonna cry.

you inspected all my dishes
you made sure they were clean
all this time that you were nice
i thought htat you were mean

you brought smiles to our faces
your smile was like the sun
lighting up our day
making sure we all had fun

but now we all have frowns
with a tear down our cheeks
but our tears will turn upside down
in at least 53 weeks

we all have to say good-bye
trying not to cry
waiting to hear your keys
listening to you say "don't cry"
