So This Is The End

Waiting for the silence
The silence from you
Talking backwards
Was all I could seem to do

It used to mean something to me
Watching the world fall on you
Now it means nothing to me
Keeping my eyes closed is what I should do

For now I can see what this means to you
And it means nothing to me
What is lost will ultimately
Too late become seen

It’s been a long process
I’ve wasted so many nights and again
Wasted so much of me
Wasted so much time on a friend

We were stupid
Too young and proud to understand
What we were doing
So this is the end

It’s the perfect timing for you
You'll run far away
From all you know and have
And ultimately wish you’d stayed

So here's my reminder of you
Whatever it may be
Same as the reminder you have
Which means nothing to you or to me

***This poem was inspired by the song 'Razorblades' by Story of
the Year and incorporates some of the lines into it to get the whole emotion
that was brought to me from the song. THIS IS NOT THE SONG. This is merely
inspiration I had and composed after hearing the song. It is about a lost
friendship.***
