Once Upon a Nightmare

Once upon a nightmare
I saw my fears unfold.
I saw the darkness take me under,
to a place I've never known.

Although nothing looks familar
and nothing seems quite right.
I feel as though I've been here,
a million times before tonight.

As the shadows start to gather
and the rain begins to fall.
I scream out to the darkness,
"Is this what I deserve?"

I'll be trapped in here forever,
and never see the light of day.
I only wish I had the chance
to dream again once more.

Now the pain begins to render
as I slowly slip away.
I have no choice but to surrender
into my world of disarray.

My vision becomes so blurry
as I give into the pain.
the darkness has now taken me.
So here's my last good-bye.
