Peacefully We Sleep

Time and Time again,
People in other lands weep.
We act like me care,
Yet peacefully we sleep.

We lie in our beds,
While people have nothing to eat.
We act like me care,
Yet peacefully we sleep.

People are dying,
Diseases can't be beat.
We act like we care,
Yet peacefully we sleep.

Wars are raging,
Living is a horrendous feat.
We act like we care,
Yet peacefully we sleep.

We're America, land of the free,
We've watched people die, by bullets and diseases,
We act like we care. . .
Yet still, peacefully we sleep.
