All-Seeing Mirror

Not your average looking glass
It showed your deepest emotion
It showed what you felt, not what you saw
Displaying only the real you, your real notion

A rich man stands before it
What does he see?
He sees himself, old and frustrated
It just shows that money isn’t the real key

A poor man stands before it
What does he see?
He sees himself, worn but yet smiling
It just shows that he’s got a great family

A young child stands before it
What do they see?
They see themselves, loved and cared for
It just shows that so far their life is just easy

An adult that has achieved so much stands before it
What do they see?
They see themselves, accomplished and proud
It just shows that their life is going perfectly

I stand before it
What do I see?
I see myself, hurt and alone
It just shows that I’m not completely happy

What would you see if you stood before it?
Would you see a smile or a frown?
Would you see a tear stained face or a pair of laughing eyes?
Go ahead, stand before it, tell me the emotion you see that’s deep down
