I Will Always Remember

I’m in your way,
(Is that anything new?)
So I guess I should
Pack my bags to make more
Room for you.
How many times do I have to repeat
Myself:
I will not stay where I’m not loved.
Pack shirts, double fold pants…
Don’t forget polka dot shoes.
Those hideous shoes,
Imperial colors.

You gave me those
Polka dot shoes.
I will keep them in my
Memory,
So at your funeral
I can bring them and make
The nicest impression:
“She was a lovely person…really she was”
When really you despised everyone
In your presence.

But, indeed,
I love you.
Take care,
Even thought I won’t
Be there.
I will always remember
Along with my polka dot shoes,
Your evilness and
Vulgar insults.
