It controlled my life,
Tour it apart
Shattered my dreams
And gave life to every fear.

Then you came
Gave my hope
And a reason to live.
Made me smile
And reminded me of the meaning of life.

The happiest I ever was
Was with you
Your love drove IT away.
I was becoming the person I wanted to be.

So when the thoughts of it came back,
I didn’t know what to do.
I wondered if I would ever be better
Or if it just came and went

I fall into it sometimes
But only a few times
I know it will be with me forever
Something I will take to the grave
But soon, I can only hope
It will be a faint memory
