When you look at me what do you see?
Do you see the guy that is truly me?
Do you know me?
If you took the time you would soon realize
The guy you see isn't really me
It is the guard I put up to hide the real me
Afraid that if you know who I am
You'd turn your back on me
Because everytime I let my guard down
Someone comes along and tears me apart
I dont understand why people are so cruel
but for now I'll keep my guard up
It will forever protect me
And you will never see the real me
