Like Whispers in the Rain

Like delicate whispers in the rain
Two are curtained by the sound
Enclosed in their own glass world
By a pattering on the ground

Masked behind the fall of tears
From the great creator above
Are fragile words heard only near
Not letting go of love

Two go dancing in the rain
And let their hands entwine
Let them spin, hidden from all
Like they've taken too much wine

Like delicate whispers in the rain
Voices dart around a drop
Searching for their lover's ear
For nothing they will stop

And, when words find where they should be
In the drape of a cloak of heart
A subtle meander from eye to eye
Display rain and love as art.
