Black Rose Tragedy

The late moon rises,
I’m still awake.
This agony is just so much to take.
A shadow falls across the grave,
Children cry and pray for the day.
Protect yourself, safe in your bed.
Fortress of pillows, cover your head.
Raise my head to the dark night sky,
See the mist lift from my eyes.
Leaves rattle and a cold wind sweeps.
The light loving people are safe beneath their sheets.
But not me, I will rise up.
Breathe in the brooding air as I walk deserted streets.
Bathed in moonlight, wrapped up in the stars,
All my thoughts of you are so far.

In this night I will rise above my pain,
In this night I will not be the one to blame.
The shadows swirl around me,
Yet I don’t seem to care.
Come and find me, I bet you wouldn’t dare.

Leave the comfort of your safe, bright home.
Walk the hidden pathway,
A graveyard in the stars.
Find me all alone, you said you would always care.
Beneath a twisted tree, black rose draws blood from your hand.

See all you know just fade away.
See the world that is all grey.
It is that frightening? No, it’s just some place new.
Tragedy inspires, feel the sadness brew.
The rain clouds cover, the soft whisper of the rain.
Everything you know now will never be the same.
You have now crossed the threshold, the dark threshold of pain.

Look up at you, eyes are streaming wet.
Let this be a nightmare that you won’t soon forget.
You are only on a visit, the sun, it calls to you.
But not me, I am forsaken, clearly not the right one for you.

So leave me here, crawling in my fears, drowning in my sorrows, there is no
place for you here.
You have a promise of a better life,
I would never keep you here,
You are an angel of light.
The moon and sun belong together yet they always are apart.
That is you and me my friend,
And now I fear we’re done.
In the darkness shadows dance and silence kills the song that I once sung.

A dead rose, all is lost, no one can bring it back, make it feel warmth,
give it back its heart.
Yet if you try to save it, the thorns will cut you thin.
Sure it doesn’t mean to, but it still will all the same.
Throw it away and forget it, save yourself a world of pain.

The black night turns to day, their fears are going away,
The sun breaks through the moon; there is nothing you can do.
My entire world is pulled into a portal, one you cannot breach.
Its locked and sealed, out of anyone’s reach.
The pathway fades, the graveyard drifts away.
You are left in a world of waking light.

You will never see me again,
The fallen angel with dark wings and a bowed head.
But on my grave a rose will stand,
A single black one,
Dead by man’s hand.
The lonely soul the world forgot.
See the rose and forget me not.
Remember, when you think your strength is through.
That there was once one more lost than you.

*This may not really seem like it belongs in this category, but I wrote it
for my best friend Nikki so that's the reason it's here. Just had
to add that cause some of my friends have been asking. Ta*
