You are falling into a pit, a puddle of mud,
As the walls around you tumble and topple over,
Your tears wet the dirt on which you stand,
You fear that soon you will fall through,
You sit in darkness, in confusion, of what’s happening around you,

All the beauty that took your breath away has gone,
Nothing captures your imagination,
Nothing captures your imagination,
Nothing captures your imagination,

The echo of your truths haunt you,
The warm sands of childhood grow cold and slip from under you,
And as you sink you reach out, suddenly aware of you dilemma,
Your own destruction has you trapped,

And you have come to me and whispered these things,
Cuddled in that corner of desperation.
I latch onto you, my own desperation to keep you above drowning,
You ask me to let you go…

And I ask you to hold on.
