What I speak may be of sadness and pain,
May talk of tears that I’ve cried,
Or the times I wish I died,
But though what I say is what I feel,
Can you not pray for me to feel-
Happiness when the sun rises,
Joy when summer comes,
Freedom from this disease,
Maybe even harmony?
Faith when I feel lost,
And love when no else does?
Doctors just look at me,
Don’t say a word,
They try to find a reason,
But like I,
It’s just a blur.
I’ve tried to take it all in,
Tried to bear the pain it gives,
Forever is a long time,
Will I live?
Can I survive?
Don’t take in this sadness,
Nor the chills it may give,
Just pray for what I need,
And see me inside,
Try your best to keep me smiling,
Your prayer could be my last lifeline.
