A deer rose
and waved in the forest breeze
She scampered and scattered
With freedom-known ease

She asked for nothing more
Than what she was assured
But they didn’t see her viewpoint
They knew what she deserved

They came in numbers
They came with ambition
They saw nothing of the world around them
Except what mattered for their position

They tore everything away
From the soil to the breeze
The deer soon fled suffering betrayal
For her freedom was just a tease

The deer now stands on the gravel top
Her sovereignty stolen away
Her past home memories popped
The breeze now a gust
