The Quiet Guy

What everyone sees
Is the quiet guy
Nobody sees
What’s inside
No one sees
A death of a mother
And growing without a father
Not much friends
People without love to lend
Moving from one place to another
One day after another

Nobody feels what he feels
No one plays with the cards he deals
No one knows
The color of his heart
No one can tell
What is hiding in his mind
No one thinks
He’s a nice guy
Everyone assumes
He’s mad and careless

No religion
Can tell him what to do
No system
Can keep him still
No cage
Can keep him in
No chains
Can keep him away
No rope
Can hang him dead
No fear
Can immobilize him
No monster
Can make him scream
No crowbar
Can open him up

No one hears
His screams inside
The screams that keep him up at night
Or feels the burn
A burn of a fire
Of his soul
Getting engulfed in flames
And his heart cold
Warmth within
Everyone sees
The outside now
People judge on
How you look
Or what clothes you wear
And how you seem to be
No one sees the warmth within
Of a survivor
From a war against hell
No one cares about
How caring he can be
Or goodness within him

What everyone sees
Is the quiet guy
But not the inside
