I wish I could have someone like you,
Who thinks of all highs and all blues,
Who has the world of shadow and shade,
Where will I now find such a mate?

I wish I could hold your hand and walk far,
And dream of someone like you, not apart,
To be one of the owl of the night,
Where will I find such a light?

I wish I could close my eyes in your arms,
Think of all lords and dance,
To be loved and admired the most,
Where will I find again that lost?

I wish I could die in your heart,
Dreamful and dreamless all alert,
Take again a birth to find a new,
Still, I would say, “there’s no one like you”.
