That one night so long ago
I remember it so clearly
As if today were then
When the silky sea swayed so softly
And the night’s eye was staring down
On us like a hawk to its prey
There seemed to be diamonds strewn
About the sky
Like crumbs from a cookie
The sea’s salt surrounded us
Like a crowd at the end of a race
And the gentle ocean breeze
Softly touched out faces
Caressing us so tenderly
It was mom’s sweet touch that is so calming
The sand tickling between out toes
For what seemed like a lifetime
And the booming of the waves
Silenced with the rising moon
The gleaming stars light the path for lovers along the sand
To add a twinkle of romance to an already perfect day
The thought of waves crashing down
And the breeze streaming across your face
Leads you only to one place
A land of beauty so great that a world bows down to it
And singing fills the air
But the real beauty is what you make of it
Deep within the sand
