out in a rose garden in the middle of spring
a single rose sits in full bloom
the petals give off an inner beauty
pink and full of life

but spring gives way to summer
and that single rose
still sits there all alone
pink is giving way to brown
the rose is quietly beginning to die

all too soon summer becomes fall
slowly the rose turns black
the petals fall
and the death of one lonely rose is complete
