Washing my face,
I look at my mirror,
And what I see,
I wonder, who will see me,
What will I be to them,
A shadow,
A lover,
A friend,
Or a sister to a brother.
Captured by the scent of the soap in my hands,
Of lavender,
The purple haze of passion,
And dreams,
I dream of what I will be to you,
Who you will be to me.
Will this shadow,
Follow me,
Weep with me,
Laugh with me,
Fight with me,
Keep me?
Will this lover,
Be pure like me,
A virgin of purity,
Hold me, as I hold him,
Kiss me, as I kiss him,
Dance with me,
My first dance,
Keep me,
As I keep him?
Will this friend be true,
Be there when I feel blue,
Hug me when I need someone,
Free me,
When I am caught,
Rescue me,
When I am gone,
Keep me as I do-
You?
Will this brother
Be loyal,
Protective,
And honored,
Sincere,
And vigilant,
Will he keep me close,
As I will keep him?
Will he keep me……..?
