What is beauty?
How you look?
How you act?
What people perseive?
It's not about what people see
It's what's beyond the cover of your book
It's not about what you lack
Not everything's how it seems

I once knew a girl
I thought she was as pretty as can be
But the more I got to know her
The more I came to see
How mean she was
A backstabber
A bitch
The heartless things she does
Feels like she jabs you with a dagger
A stuck-up little witch
Now I see
Who she is inside
To me, how ugly she now is
How it was just a disguise
I see the cold her her eyes
And people like this
I've grown to dispise

What is beauty?
What you do?
Who you are?
What you say?
It's honesty
The true you
What's in your heart
The part that you play

I once knew a girl
Kind of skinny and scraggly
And people made fun of her
Sent her home crying
So, I decided she needed a friend
Get to know the real her
And who she was within
She was the sweetest thing
As nice as you get
With a heart so pure
Someone I'll never forget
She dreamed of popularity
But no one would give her a try
To them, she wasn't as "perfect" or as "pretty" as
they were
Although she was gorgeous inside

What is beauty?
It's what lies deep in your soul
And if you look beyond their outter shell...
You'll see they're beautiful
