The Chase
By Jared Whipp
As the water turns to blood the stones turn to gold.
Changing all the new into old.
Death has come for me now I am alone.
I am in pain I will cry and I will moan.
I must run and I must hide.
Yesterday I almost died.
The closer he comes the darker it gets.
I can’t possibly take any more hits.
I fear that I am growing week.
I must try to hide because he has come to seek.
He grabs my arm I scream I curse.
I fall to the ground it gets even worse.
He cuts I bleed I think I have fainted.
This cant possible be belated I will face him now before I become completely
wasted.
My life flashes before my eyes as I let out my few last sighs.
I don’t know where I am. I am confused.
It feels as if I have been used for a human sacrifice
because he cut me with his sickle and sieth.
I will leap in to the dark abyss.
Death will greet me with a kiss.
I fall I fall I fall I fall some more.
I hit the ground god I am sore.
I stand I stare at the golden door.
He blocks my way.
He commands me to stay.
He hits me down like a nail.
He tells me of my trail.
He hails me his new apprentice.
I can’t possibly comprehend this.
As my blood begins to boil.
My flesh turns to oil
The oil turns to fire as his desire.
My soul is darkening as the hounds of hell are barking.
As I arise with all this power.
I command all of humanity to cower.
