TRANSPARENT

conquer your fear
you whisper in my ear
I'm so afraid at this height
I can see the world
It's all so beautiful and frightening
I can feel your kiss
it breathes life into me
but only for a moment
and then I remember
what dying feels like
I've climbed the highest
point of love once before
and I could see forever
at that height
I remember walking along
the edge of my life
and suddenly falling
my memories whisking by
as I free fall
yet there is no sound
no scream, nothing but quiet
nothing but me broken,
scattered, chipped pieces
of me blowing in the wind
I'm a ghost
I'm a shell of a woman
you thought you felt
feeling love nor hate
feeling joy nor pain, just fear
I trusted someone else once
I can't let you take me up there
because I remember falling
I remember dying
I remember broken pieces
you reach out to touch me
and your hands pass thru me
