frolic then die

Roaming through an enchanted mystery,
A bitter taste left forever in my mouth,
My whispering reflection drowning deep in its pool,
A rain falls on my head, chilling my life to the bone,
Transparent masks hide my face and veil my eyes,
A trick of illusion for I was never here.
Stumbling into an unraveling place,
I discover a meaning entwined with my growing fear.

Cross my heart and hope to die,
Placed a bet on this gamble,
Rolled the dice, and wished for luck
But not much hope is available
when you have been drowning in a lie.
