Angelic Defiance

An angel cries...
But heaven's closed its doors.
No longer will she fly.
An angel; no more.
Her golden halo, now broken.
Her feathery wings, so tattered.
Hollow words left unspoken.
Her heart; shattered.
Ever-falling, back to Earth,
God's tears whipping her face.
Forgotten promise; no after-birth.
No way to re-enter that place.
"You can't just leave me;
No, not like this."
A mourning lover; now lonely;
His angel he did miss.
He cries out his grief:
"Come back, again!
Our life together was brief,
If only I had known then.
O How I truly love you,
So painful, life has been.
If only we could start anew,
A new life, we could begin."
God's already turned his head,
On the one who refused heaven.
He sent her away instead,
At the word of his "Amen."
With His heed, she fell,
And to her lover.
Tear mixed smiles; no final farewells;
Not until they could say it together...
