Madness from the Unexplored

Love is a question
That can never be answered
Riddled with riddles that can never be solved
A force of nature
A force of spirit
So rich with power and influence
It has shaped worlds
Made lives
And broken eternity
So unknown are the depths of love
That hapless souls venture
Deep into its confusing chasms
And impassible labyrinths
And find that they can never return
We can never fully understand
Why we can never understand
The force and nature of love
Which is why this emotion
This force
This power
This confounding spirit
Can never be controlled
Or felt with a knowledge of consequence
For what little we know
It vastly overshadowed
By what we do not
For the unexplored depths of love's innermost caverns
May hold the keys
As to why it pains us so
And why after so much torment
We come back for more
And feel the same sweet death time and time again
To simply glimpse at these places
Would be like finding the answers to all of life's problems
But unfortunately
We can never seek these places
For love's secrets remain unexplored.
